What insurance does a QLD electrician need?
QLD electricians require the following insurance:
- Public Liability Insurance – $5,000,000
- Consumer Protection Insurance – $50,000
For public liability you can have higher amounts, with $5m simply being the minimum requirements.
For consumer protection, the only amount available is $50,000.
In order to obtain or renew your electrical contractor’s licence you will need a special certificate of currency that confirms the above requirements have been met.
